thanks!! i left a comment on the youtube video about this project with some thoughts about the game. i was also wondering if you had a discord server that people could join to talk about your videos and your games!
This game is gloryous! It's really fun for it's size, and sells the sense of speed pretty well. However, I think some roaring engine sounds would make it even better, especially when you're changing directions quickly.
unfortunately it's unplayable on linux (nobara) since the absorption effect just flickers all the time when not even close to something and you can't see much because of it
It needs to be updated to work on Apple devices. It says that because the game is not updated to the latest version, Apple can't check for malicious software.
super super fun!!!! maybe you could add hitstop to make when the player hits something more impactful and also (this will be much harder to implement) but something like a "coyote timer" where the games slows down a little bit when you are getting close to being hit to make dodging slightly easier
oo, I like these kinds of games. makes me remember dotstream for the gba.
anyway, tried trackpad and did ok. then gamepad and it was haaard. interesting solution on the steering with left analog stick being precise movement and right being bigger moves. though none of them felt right. the left one needed to be pulled to the extreme to get a decent move out and the right was just too much. I think an exponentional readout instead of linear would be better.
well, mouse was the easiest to handle. I got to 22 on my first try with it.
but I always had trouble judging height grace and often bumped the roof into crystals. this migh be mitigated with moving the field that lights up from the ship more forward. I felt like often I would hit the underside of a crystal before even seeing the close charging effect on it.
this and the shield pick ups. I imagine I thought I had picked one up a handful of times without anything happening. it looked like I flew through it? so I'm thinking it would be nice if you enlarged the pick up zone.
also, I agree with the idea with checkpoints. the beginning is kind of a drag and is so slow that I lose focus.
all in all, a real fun game! with a bit of polish it would be a great zen mode game to keep coming back to~
I enjoyed the later stages of the game, but the earlier stages are tedious and having to replay those earlier stages stopped me from wanting to play the game more. I think an easy fix is adding a checkpoint every 5 levels so if someone wants to avoid the earlier bit they can load up their checkpoint to where they left off.
Awesome game, controls felt lovely. At times it felt difficult to see the game due to how much tilt you get when going upwards. The game also feels unfair at times when you have to take a hit to get out of an area. Other than those small critiques, its very well polished and I liked it!

Such an effective game as a fun arcade experience. I think the main mechanic of increasing charge when in close proximity to crystals
has a perfect opportunity for improvement in sound design
- juicier satisfying magical charge sound with longer successful charge = higher pitch
which could improve the game drastically in fun and satisfaction.
I played for a bit on-stream yesterday (and will probably stream more today!) and managed to clear level 25 without a single hit.

Amazing, you're quite a bit better than me (20) and you still had 2 lives left

Not yet but maybe at some point!

Yes, this is standard, unfortunately. It just means the app isn't signed. I can assure you it was developed on a Mac, so it does indeed work. You just need to follow these instructions. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac

got to 28 today. but man, it took an hour haha
Highest score I've heard of so far!

Not an unpopular opinion... definitely something I can do here
"R" restart the game. Q and E do not work for me by some reason. Use a laptop (HP ProBook 450 G1) keyborad
Oh yes I just noticed - it's not Q and E, it's left shift and right shift. I'll change the description, thanks for bringing it up. I'll add R too.
"Sticky Keys" window appear whenever you press shift multiple times in Windows
Congradulations! You've earnd a STYLE point.
Really nice feeling gameplay + enjoyed the soundtrack quite a bit.

Thanks for the feedback! Update with a tighter camera (especially, but not only in the vertical) on the way. Makes a big difference.
thats was really helpful actually, still not really ok with it but suppose its all because of my potato
Honestly, such an amazing concept. noice job
Cheers!
